New Year, Same God

“5 And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” 6 And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. 7 All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children….

17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.” Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life. 18 And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the words of prophecy written in this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book. 19 And if anyone removes any of the words from this book of prophecy, God will remove that person’s share in the tree of life and in the holy city that are described in this book.

20 He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!”

Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!

21 May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s holy people”
Revelation 21:5-7 and Revelation 22:17-19.

Jesus is here, making all things new.
It’s a new day, a new start,
a time where people make resolutions and try to be better.

Here’s a way to be better.

Let the Lord of the Universe, the Alpha and Omega, the One who Was and Is and Is to come..
The “I Am”, who always is, no matter what may have happened to you or will happen to you,
the One who created life and the One who will be there when it passes away…
The One who is Three and is One,
The One who sent His Son to die for the sins of the world so that we, who live dead, might find life…
Let Him be your God.

Let Him be your Emmanuel, the God who is always with us…
Let Him be your  Elohim, the God of immense power and might…
Let Him be your YHWH, the God who wants our intimacy and relationship…
Let Him be your rock, your fortress,
your shield, your strength,your wings,
your love, your life, your everything.

Let Him be your God.

His Lordship in your life not just something you can put on Facebook or fill out on surveys,
not something to be tossed out flippantly at parties or in social gatherings.
His reign in your life should not be something hid away or scorned.
Not something to be ashamed of,
but something to be shown to the world.

Because in a world that’s changing, in a new year that’s starting,
our God is the same God. He always has been, and always will be.

Come this year, Lord Jesus. This minute. This second.

All praise and glory and honor be to the Most High.
