New Year, Same God

“5 And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” 6 And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. 7 All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children….

17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.” Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life. 18 And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the words of prophecy written in this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book. 19 And if anyone removes any of the words from this book of prophecy, God will remove that person’s share in the tree of life and in the holy city that are described in this book.

20 He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!”

Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!

21 May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s holy people”
Revelation 21:5-7 and Revelation 22:17-19.

Jesus is here, making all things new.
It’s a new day, a new start,
a time where people make resolutions and try to be better.

Here’s a way to be better.

Let the Lord of the Universe, the Alpha and Omega, the One who Was and Is and Is to come..
The “I Am”, who always is, no matter what may have happened to you or will happen to you,
the One who created life and the One who will be there when it passes away…
The One who is Three and is One,
The One who sent His Son to die for the sins of the world so that we, who live dead, might find life…
Let Him be your God.

Let Him be your Emmanuel, the God who is always with us…
Let Him be your  Elohim, the God of immense power and might…
Let Him be your YHWH, the God who wants our intimacy and relationship…
Let Him be your rock, your fortress,
your shield, your strength,your wings,
your love, your life, your everything.

Let Him be your God.

His Lordship in your life not just something you can put on Facebook or fill out on surveys,
not something to be tossed out flippantly at parties or in social gatherings.
His reign in your life should not be something hid away or scorned.
Not something to be ashamed of,
but something to be shown to the world.

Because in a world that’s changing, in a new year that’s starting,
our God is the same God. He always has been, and always will be.

Come this year, Lord Jesus. This minute. This second.

All praise and glory and honor be to the Most High.

“11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
-Jeremiah 29:11

Today is my birthday.
Today, the Lord has blessed me by giving me another year to live.
Another year to not just live, but thrive-
to experience joy, and peace, and the fullest of abundant blessings.

It’s  another year to see lives changed, hearts mended, and people reborn
as I continue on my mission for Christ here on this earth.
I am eternally grateful to my Father for the blessings and talents He has given me.
This birthday-it’s not a celebration of me,
but a celebration of the fact that God has sustained me and kept me for 19 years on this earth.
To God be the glory.

I know He has plans for me this next year,
but I don’t look ahead too far-
for we don’t know what tomorrow brings.
So, I take each day, each moment,as it comes.

I live for my God,
for each opportunity to share the Gospel,
to be the Gospel,
for each teaching moment,
for each lesson learned,
for each belly aching laugh,
for each quiet time,
for each dark valley and bright mountaintop,
for each embarrassing moment,
and for each cherished memory.

Some people chose to simply be, but I live!
Because to just be…to only exist… is not enough.
There must be something more to life than pure existence.
I live,
because I was created to be alive.

A Psalm of…Everything, Really.

Lord, I just thank you for all the marvelous wonders that you do, and for the marvelous unfathomable wonder that you are.
You are a God who is more than loving; you ARE Love.
You are a God who does more than forgive; you ARE Mercy.
You are a God who is more than just perfect; You ARE Holiness, and Justice.

Lord, who is there that can compare to You?
Can material wealth, and things, ever amass the riches that your Kingdom possesses?
Can sex and pornography and lust fill me,
when the touch from your Spirit sends my mind reeling and my heart bursting with Your joy and love?
Can I escape from the world in alcohol and drugs as well as in the worship of my King?
To whom else can I pour out the depths of my soul, only to have You know my every cry before it happens?
And yet STILL you hear my cry;
you lift me from the depths and put me on your solid ground.

I cry out to the Holy One, “Save me!”And You are there.
I cry out, “Forgive me! I am a sinner. I’m not worthy of Your love” And Your blood spills over my forehead, washing me clean.
The Gospel is not foolishness to me, but I believe with everything I am that it is the power of God.

Let me proclaim Your name to the nations!
Let me shout it from the rooftops, a cry from the depths of my soul
that the world may know Your precious name,
and what You did for them.
Let them be in awe at Your death,
and let them be shouting for joy at the news that
Christ is risen from the dead,
seated at the right hand of the Father!
Death will have died at the end of the age,
and I will sing the praises of my Lord and Savior
forever and ever.

Elijah on Mount Carmel-Spoken Word

this is a spoken word piece I did for my church this Sunday. It brings to mind an excellent question-how long will we waver between two opinions? God, or the other false idols in our lives?
